Can an iPhone 14 Pro Beat the iPhone 13 Pro in 2023?
If you say that the iPhone 13 Pro is a subpar phone, I’ll say that you’re crazy. Have you seen the spec on that things? I bought it as a used iPhone and still think that it’s an amazing phone with amazing features. However, there’s a new sheriff in town, and his name is iPhone 14 Pro (apologies for the corny cowboy reference 😅). Even though the 13 Pro was nothing to scoff at, the 14 Pro (even though not the top dog in the iPhone 14 lineup) is one of the best-performing phones that I’ve ever used.
Other than the 13 Pro, I also bought a used iPhone 12 Pro about a year 1.5 years ago, and I loved each and every moment I used it. With each new iteration of the phone, they’ve made sure to keep up the tradition of improving with each new iteration, but there are some who still think that the 13 Pro is better than the 14 Pro. So, that’s why in this article, I’ll be going over the question if the 14 Pro can beat the 13 Pro.
Therefore, here are the things you need to understand about the 14 Pro.
- A few upgrades that came with the new iPhone 14 Pro
- Can it really beat the iPhone 13 Pro
With that said, let’s start by covering the few improvements that the 14 Pro has over the 13 Pro.
A Few Upgrades That Came with the New iPhone 14 Pro
1. Notch
The very first and foremost thing that you’ll notice in the iPhone 14 Pro is its notice area. Both the Pro and Pro Max come with a new type of notch called the “Dynamic Island.” Previously, many people had complained that the notches on the previous iteration of the iPhones were hideous or would cover up a lot of the screen. Plus, it was at the time when companies were even trying to hide the front-facing camera by putting it under the screen.
2. Chipset
The main difference between both the 13 Pro and the 14 Pro is that both of them use 2 different generations of chipsets. The 13 Pro used the A15 Bionic chipset, while the 14 Pro uses the A16 Bionic chipset. Performance-wise, both chipsets are pretty powerful and very close to each other.
However, if I had to pick the best chipset iPhone, I would go for the 14 Pro. This is the first phone even in the 14 lineup that uses this chipset. The lower variants use the older A15 chipset, which again is a good chipset, but if you want to get the best gaming performance and battery life, then you’ll definitely need the 14 Pro.
3. Camera
The last major improvement that you’ll see in both of the phones is the major camera differences. Normally, I wouldn’t have gone for this thing because most of the lenses used in both phones are pretty much the same. Even the used iPhone 12 Pro I used a long time ago had the same 12MP camera setup, but this time Apple came packing.
The 14 Pro comes with a massive 48MP camera lens which is more than capable enough to compete with devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G. Plus, it also comes with the feature of new Action Mode video stabilization that makes sure you shoot great quality videos every time.
Can It Really Beat the iPhone 13 Pro
Now, after reading all of the specs mentioned above, you can’t expect me to say that the new iPhone 14 Pro is identical to last year’s 13 Pro. There is a huge difference between both of the phones, and I would every time go for the 14 Pro (if my wallet allows it).
